The temperature has dropped in the last week or so and snuggle season is finally upon us. The temptation is to stay in, with the heating on and the fire lit, and get cosy on the sofa with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate. To make sure my feet stay warm I would ensconce them in the super soft cashmere bed socks from The White Company – a pair in every colour would do me just fine! Scented candles are a must at this time of year and, if Santa’s reading, the new vanilla candle by Diptyque is on my Christmas list.
But we all have to venture out into the cold at some point and for me the emphasis is definitely on staying warm. My children may be happy in short sleeves (and crocs if I let them get away with it!) even when the thermometer is showing single figures but I will be wrapped up in these cosy winter warmers. The Topshop padded parka jacket with borg lining is winging its way to me as we speak and I’m also contemplating ordering the cute pom pom knit beanie from Anthropologie. Add a pair off Uggs (if I didn’t already have a pair, I would invest in these boots with extra bling) and a cashmere snood like this one from Brora and I’m good to go.
I don’t know about you, but I’m hoping for snow this year!
I bought a proper wooden sledge last year from Hen & Hammock after coveting one forever…and then it didn’t snow!!! How rude of nature!
So, yes, definitely snow this winter, please. But not for Christmas as I now have plans to be part of our decorations.
I know, last Christmas was bit of a wash out weather wise. I bought snow boots for all the kids as the year before they all sold out in the shops and they didn’t wear them once.
I’m intrigued now about your decoration plans – do tell more. X
Oh, i just think a sledge looks really cool when piled up with presents and it may help with the overspill from under the Christmas tree.
Then it also makes a handy spare seat for young bottoms when the hoardes are over and space on the sofa is in short supply.
Xx
That sounds lovely, can’t wait to see the pics. With 12 weeks of building work just started I don’t even know if we will have room for a Christmas tree! X
There really are some good things about winter. These look fab. I love cosy socks and a cashmere snood, how fab.
Warm socks are a must as I have really bad circulation and get really cold feet and hands. I love snuggly winter wear! X
I love the boots and the socks at most! but all those things are perfect for the winter and i just loved them 🙂
Me too 🙂 Thanks so much of your comment. X
It will be nice if it snows when I go home next month.
