I am a West London girl at heart. It may not be as ‘cool’ or ‘edgy’ as its East End counterpart but I’d pick Chelsea over Hoxton any day. Now that we’ve decamped to suburbia I don’t get the chance to enjoy the delights on offer in SW3 as often as I would like (for some reason the kids don’t seem to like traipsing up and down Kings Road and Sloane Street as much as I do..) But yesterday an old friend of mine was in town so we met at Sloane Square tube station, wandered down to Duke of York Square, and then up Kings Road looking in the shops and chatting (strictly window shopping though, as my bank balance is still recovering from the Christmas excess…) followed by a late lunch and more chatting – when you haven’t seen someone for six months there is lots of catching up to do.
A trip into town wouldn’t be the same without a visit to my favourite store Anthropologie. Temptation lurks in every corner but, although I tried a couple of things on, I left empty handed this time. Big pat on the back for me!
These books in the shape of letters were really cool.
I love the map cushions…
..and the monogram mugs – I think my morning coffee would taste really good in one of these.Β Because I do so much of my shopping online, it is easy to forget how nice it is to browse around the shops even if you’re just looking. However well laid out and presented a website is, it’s no substitute for the real thing!
Hope you’ve had a nice weekend. X
I love those map pillows, books and mugs! Those mugs are everywhere on my fashion blogger instagram feed. I wish I could browse your favorite London spots with you! Maybe one day. π
I really hope so, that would be fantastic x
What a lovely afternoon. This strolling around with a friend is something I would do myself, love the mugs too! x
It was lovely. We all need that sometimes. X
Looks like fun!! I would love to visit!! And my sister just gave me that exact monogram mug! π I def love a good monogram too! xo
Ooh I’m jealous. I was so tempted to buy one. I’m sure I’ve seen them in golf somewhere as well. X
Oh I miss London something rotten! Can’t seem to find an excuse back for a holiday. Must mend my ways. Btw, I used to design for Anthropologie. They have some lovely little home knick knacks too, don’t they? But I didn’t design those π
Did you? I bet that was a great job! I have London on my doorstep but still don’t get manage to spend a whole day there very often..x
One of my fave stores, always inspiring!
I love it, every time I visit I think I could happily live there ! X
I must get “across the pond” one day and visit. We are planning a trip to Corsica and Paris this summer. We tried to fly home via London, but no luck this time. Will just have to plan another trip π
Yes definitely. Paris is amazing though, you will love it. X
I am glad you got to catch up with your friend π I love looking around stores too, but I had not had a chance to do so since the baby arrived π¦ I love the monogram mugs π
It was lovely and yes shopping is definitely better without the kids in tow. I appreciate a day out on my own with a friend so much more now that it is such a rare occurence. X
Knowing your blog writing this post must have been even worse for you. Getting reminded of all those little lovely things. How about opening your own shop, you can surrounded by all your favourite things and call it work! π
Oh that would be lovely! My friend and I have thought about opening a shop in our village…Maybe one day…X
